Tuesday’s Music: Tei

Posted by CD | Posted in Tuesday's Music | Posted on 09-26-2006 | No Comments »

tei-pic.jpgWelcome to Tuesday’s Music! I have decided to make every Tuesday a day that I can share with everyone international music that is hitting the charts across the globe. These singers are not only popular within their own countries but known internationally. So with that said, I bring to you a relatively new singer from South Korea, Tei! Who first stunned Korea with his first album titled “The First Journey” in 2004. Since then he has given us two more albums. His second album “UcuPraCacia” and his latest album “A Third Opinion” were both released in 2005. For the longest time I had no idea what UcuPraCacia was referring too. But, I recently found out that UcuPraCacia is an imaginary plant from a book by a Korean author in which it dies when touched but if the same person falls in love and comes back to UcuPraCacia to touch it again, the plant will come back to life. Now that sounds like it should have been in the movie ‘The Never-Ending Story!” Tei named his album UcuPraCacia so he can wish for his fans continued support and devotion.

Typical of most Korean singers are their ballads but what makes Tei a joy to listen to is his unique somewhat husky voice. Tei can be heard and seen on many of the game/variety shows in Korea that I will be discussing in future blogs along with a 1 on 1 interview with my special guest!
Request for Tei’s song can be made by adding a comment.  Thanks!
