Former Enron CEO Skilling sentenced

October 24th, 2006 by CD

Just a quick note on this issue. I am truly happy to see that this man got what he deserves. The judge in this case could have not said it better when he stated to Mr. Skilling that “his crimes have imposed on hundreds if not thousands a life sentence of poverty.” It seems both congress and big business will do just about anything to get rich all at the expense of middle class America. The remaining assets, which total about $60 million, will be liquidated. It’s unfortunate that only $45 million will be set-aside for the victims of the corrupted leadership of Enron. Hopefully, the families can breath a little easier knowing that this man is getting what he deserves! 24 years and 4 months!

Barrie Zwicker: The Great Deception

October 22nd, 2006 by CD

This is part 2 (part 1) of my topic on government involvement with 9/11. If you have not watched Loose Change already, I highly recommend that you watch that first before watching Barrie Zwicker’s documentary titled “The Great Conspiracy.” My goal here is to present you with evidence and theories that you may not know about or had questions when 9/11 actually happened. Mr. Zwicker gives an excellent historical analysis to further illustrate that governments/leaders have took part in the destruction of their own system to gain and/or to keep power. After the historical analysis, Mr. Zwicker goes into the deception and lies of President Bush and his staff on September 11th and afterwards.

Barrie Zwicker’s website states that he is an independent documentary producer, author and social and political activist. During 2001-2002 TV season, Zwicker hosted VisionTV Insight: The MediaFile Edition, “a weekly half-hour commercial-free alternative look at the media,” moderated its media panel and provided a commentary each program. Six of his MediaFile commentaries that season — a series titled “What Really Happened on Sept. 11th?” - made him the first mainstream television journalist in the world to go on air and deeply question the official story of the events of 9/11. The commentaries elicited the greatest response of any programming in the channel’s history. The response was literally 99% positive. The series became known as “The Great Deception” and was released on video under that title.

October 22nd, 2006 by CD

tomyum_l.jpgTom Yum Kung a.k.a Thai Prawn Soup is a pleasant dish for this time of year. It’s easy to make and quite tasty as well. Tom yum is usually made with prawns and/or other various types of seafood. You can also add mushrooms (oyster or straw) and rice noodles.

Nguyen Tan

October 20th, 2006 by CD

tandennishaster.jpgNguyen Tan, a republican candidate in California is in big trouble. I am not sure whether to call him plain stupid or out of the loop with regards to his campaign. A recent threatening letter sent to hundreds of Hispanics stated, “You are advised that if your residence in this country is illegal or you are an immigrant, voting in a federal election is a crime that could result in jail time.” Hummmm Mr. Nguyen, lets look at the facts here. You were born in Vietnam and came to the USA in 1973. Does that not make you an immigrant too? Wake up Mr. Nguyen, it is already clear by your website that you have a bias against illegal immigration but before you send out hundreds of threatening letters, you yourself might want to read up on U.S. law which states “Immigrants who are adult naturalized citizens are eligible to vote.” Do us a favor and stick to your daytime job as an investment advisor and nominate another honorable and respectful person from the Vietnamese community.

Is it me or does it seem like the boldface and despicable liar Speaker Dennis Hastert does not seem all that thrilled with shaking your hand? Hummm, I have my thoughts but I’m afraid they are too controversial to state!

Gas Prices: A plot to win votes

October 20th, 2006 by CD

gas.jpgHave you wondered why all of the sudden gas prices have become so low? With the November elections around the corner, could the government and/or the oil industry have a hand in the recent drop in gasoline? We all know that this country is heavily influenced by big business contributions and one can not certainly think that this money is just given away for free, both sides expect something in return. The saying “I’ll scratch your back if you’ll scratch mine” is a rather appropriate analogy of what is happening in congress.

Here are the facts:

1. Big Oil gave the GOP 81 percent of its $63 million in campaign contributions since Bush took office.

2. Republicans are giving Big Oil a $5 billion helping of tax breaks.

3. Last November the Republican-led Senate Commerce Committee, headed by Alaska Senator Ted Stevens, gave oil companies a post-Katrina break to keep their exorbitant profits.

According to a USA Today/Gallup poll last week found that 42 percent of the roughly 1,000 adults surveyed across the United States believed President George W. Bush’s Administration had “deliberately manipulated the price of gasoline so that it would decrease before this falls elections.” Is it farfetched to think that happy people will vote to keep the current administration in because they will assume that this administration is behind the recent drop in gasoline prices. What do you think? What will happen the day after elections? Will gasoline price rise? I think so!

Is this the face of a terrorist

October 17th, 2006 by CD

vert_stewart_ap.jpgThe witch-hunt has begun against the American population as the radical Bush Administration puts use to its unlawful legislations. Lawyer Lynne Stewart was sentenced 28 months and her translator Yousry who was used in court proceedings was sentenced 20 months. Since 2000, Ms. Stewart was the lawyer for Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman who was convicted as being a terrorist. Ms. Stewart was convicted on conspiracy charges for violating a court agreement that strictly limited her prison meetings with Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman and banned her from sharing his statements with the outside world. In an interview Ms. Stewart said that she never expected to face such consequences for violating what she called “a regulation.” And “of course,” she said, “I certainly couldn’t predict the events of 9/11, which would make everyone in the world see anything done for a so-called or convicted terrorist in a different light.” Her translator Mohammed Yousry was convicted on conspiracy charges for his role in the ‘extra meetings.”

Now, was she just an overzealous lawyer trying to help her client or was she a 69 year old breast cancer U.S. citizen plotting terrorist attacks against the U.S. government? I’m sure Mohammed Yousry an Egyptian born citizen wishes now that he would have stayed back in Egypt rather then to have immigrated to this country. The saying “God bless America” is certainly not applicable to these unfortunate U.S. citizens.

A defiant and determined North Korea

October 16th, 2006 by CD

_42200588_kim_ap203b.jpgWith the ratification of UNSC Resolution 1718, it would seem that the international community was giving North Korea nothing more than a slap on the wrist. Little can be done to force North Korea to stop producing nuclear weapons and as North Korea has stepped out of the six party talks, future negotiations stand at a halt. The U.S. foreign policy with North Korea has failed along with embarrassment to several other countries most notably China. China has the closest bilateral engagement policies with North Korea and with the nuclear test done on October 6th, China must now at all cost try to prevent a military escalation. China will not impose certain restrictions as called for by Resolution 1718. My thought on this matter is that as “close friends” China will do everything possible to keep a good standing between the countries not to mention the need for a peaceful and stable region.

The death of the Bill of Rights

October 12th, 2006 by CD

Do you think you are still free here in America? Do you have the right to a speedy trial? Well, thank again. As a follow-up to my pervious post on Bill S 3930, I wanted to let everyone know exactly the rights that have been stripped away. As always, Keith Olbermann speaks and reports the truth on matters that are of grave importance while other networks shy away from reality.
