Let’s debate this!  The Bush administration is really trying to cut off any antiwar demonstrations.   The actions taken by the police are way out of hand.   I will have to ask my cousin who is a lawyer to see if there were any illegal actions done on both sides.

More than a dozen police officers converged at a corner of Lafayette Square yesterday, bringing with them a horse and extra handcuffs.

Their target: a handful of demonstrators who had gathered to post two signs on an electrical box advertising a protest march Sept. 15 against the Iraq war.

During a clash that drew a crowd during lunchtime, two demonstrators, including an Iraq war veteran and the mother of another veteran, were arrested on charges of defacing public property. Police charged a third protester with impeding an officer.

“It was a case of extreme police overreaction,” said Brian Becker, a protest organizer.

The D.C. government has fined the coalition about $20,000 for posting signs, and the Park Service has asked the group to remove them.

The coalition countered by filing a lawsuit challenging the District’s regulations. The suit is pending.

The group assembled for a news conference yesterday at Lafayette Square to promise to put up more posters, regardless of possible sanctions. Within minutes, the pledge was tested. An officer approached and asked whether the demonstrators had a permit for their gathering.

More officers arrived, including several dressed in black commando-style uniforms and one atop a horse that he maneuvered to push back the crowd.

Nader Bagherzadeh and Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich recently said “reputable papers such as The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and Washington Post have all decided that serving a departing administration that has led the nation into one quagmire is of greater importance than loyalty to a nation consistent in its devotion to the flag.”

This is very true.  If you would read these newspapers you would think Iran is on its way to making nuclear weapons.  Also, lets not forget the ever so popular media stations like Fox news, CNN etc…. who really do not do real reporting these days.  Instead they are intimidated by the government and other news outlets.

Well folks, I will make it very simple for you guys. If you want to know the truth about Iran’s PEACEFUL nuclear intentions, all you have to do is read the UN’s IEAEs report on Iran (Safeguard Agreements).  And don’t tell me these reputable papers such as The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and Washington Post do not know the truth about Iran.  They all do, put they are continuing to deceive the American people because they can get away with it.  Let’s face it folks, most Americans do not care, let alone dig the truth out.

So I’m here to help bring the report to the open.  Please post this on your blogs and spread the report.  The major finding out of this summary report is:  (Drum roll please…)

  1. The Agency has been able to verify the non-diversion of the declared nuclear
materials at the enrichment facilities in Iran and has therefore concluded that it remains in
    peaceful use.

rivera_steele_ap Government officials arrested in New Jersey corruption Humm do you know what China does “sometimes” when they catch currupt officials.  They execute them OR the officials commit suicide before hand due to a lost of face.  The USA is just as corrupt as other countries and the fact that we preach to the world on issues like corruption makes me sick.  Let’s fix it at home before we talk “*&^%” about other countries.

And folks, that is my “hot topic” for today.

Vietnam has been substantial improvements in terms of alleviating poverty throughout the country. According to the latest data available from the Government Statistics Office, the national poverty rate fell to 24.1% in 2003-04 from 28.9% in 2001-02, based on a poverty line that would allow a household to buy 2,100 calories worth of food per person daily and provide for basic needs such as shelter and clothing.  With that being said, Vietnam still has quite a bit to go with combating the growing inequalities in this arena.

According to the EIU, Although income levels are rising, there is a fairly high degree of income inequality, and poverty will remain a serious problem in many parts of the country. According to the General Statistics Office, the percentage of people living in poverty (the poverty line is based on the cost of purchasing 2,100 calories of food per person per day, plus a modest quantity of non-food items) stood at about 24% in 2004. This was down from 28.9% in 2001-02. However, some areas suffer a much higher rate of poverty than the national average. In the north-west, for example, the poverty rate stood at 54% in 2004, and in the Central Highlands it was 32.7%, whereas in the south-east region it was only 6.7%.
The government will make progress in reducing the incidence of poverty.  However, in most parts of the country market opportunities will still mainly be limited to the lower end of the market.  Opportunities at the higher end of the market will be limited to the main urban areas, particularly the capital, Hanoi, and in Ho Chi Minh City, which is significantly richer than the rest of the country.
